I talk to her.

Why the heck are people thumbing-down the correct answers?

It's "I talk to her". There is no reason to assume this talking happened in the past, or the future, or that "speak" would be more appropriate in this context--there is NO context, people!

Old know it all makes a good point about the few occasions in which "talk her" would be used. You make also talk "with", "about", "for" or in some cases "at" her. (Talking with her implies you're also listening, talk at her implies you're not listening at all.) But usually it's "to".

In English you talk TO a person.

Talk is usually intransitive, so it takes an indirect pronoun. The correct form is "talk to her".

There are some idiomatic uses of "talk" that are transitive. These usually have an additional preposition to give a different meaning, such as:

"talk her out of"

"talk her down"

you definitely can not say "i talk her"

however, "i talk to her" is ok if you do it on a regualr/habitual basis like,

"i talk to her everyday."

(you need to have frequency words --- like "daily", "sometimes", "often" and others --- in your sentence to make it correct)

or when you have questions like, "what do you do when your girlfriend gets mad at you?"

you can answer this question by saying "i talk to her."

however, if you mean that you are speaking to her right now, then you must say

"i am talking to her."

hope that's clear to you... ^__^
