In learning a second language, proficiency can be broken up into two categories: BICS and CALP skills.
BICS (basic interpersonal communication skills) takes 3-5 years to master.
CALP (cognitive academic language proficiency) takes 5-7 years.
So... you've got some time to get to where you want to be. Keep it up.

It will probably take more time for you to feel that you are fluent. Are you just studying or do you use it in your daily life? For example, do you volunteer or have Spanish speaking friends with whom you can practice? The key to being fluent is to not only study but to speak it in your daily life. Make personal connections with native Spanish speakers and before you know it you will be fluent.

uhmm .I've been studying english for 1 year, so I'm not really good enough, I'm trying to be better though. however, I've got to admit that to learn a language is not easy, you've got to consider grammar, to listen audios, to make conversation etc etc, but I'm sure you've got to study hard and the results will be perfect ;) hope you've added me

Dude, cheer up, I learnt it for 7yrs and I still can't carry on a proper Spanish conversation. But keep practising it, because if you don't use it, you'll lose it ;)

as long as you can speak fluently 3 years is okay I wouldnt expect someone to be able to write as well as they could in English in 3 years
