"epic.." do you think that word is annoying?

Does anyone cringe when they hear the word epic these days?

I don't get annoyed normally by it, only when people use it a lot while talking. It's a lot worse if it's people that aren't really familiar with the computer/gaming scene; therefore posers. The word that makes me cringe far more though is the non-real-word derivative of 'epic' known as "epical". If you hear anyone saying that, you have my permission to punch them in the face. I hope to god that that word is short lived...

No. I AM annoyed, however, by people who insist on using words ad nauseum, without really knowing the proper usage.



It's the ignorant people that are annoying, not the words.



I am reminded of a character on a tv show many years ago, who, every line, emphasized something she was saying by using "air quotes".



Not quoting anything, but underlining things, using "air quotes". Use of quotation marks instead of underlines annoys me, too.
