I know how to do it with alts, but my number lock key doesn't work on my laptop so I can't do that. Is there another easy fast way to do this?

If you're using Windows, give yourself a Spanish 'virtual keyboard' - go into Control Panel, click on Regional and Languageoptions, and there you'll find how to add on a keyboard for any and as many languages as you like. Choose Spanish ( traditional sort)

one or two of your keys will change places - for example the ñ with the tilde over it, will be where the semicolon ; is now, but you get used to that very quickly. A couple of other peripheral keys become é etc. I find it's far less hassle than messing about with alt+number, far less cutting and pasting every time, what a drag. Just dfo what Spanish people do, use a keyboard appropriate to the language.

If you are using Windows, you can add a virtual keyboard that allows you to type characters such as ñ, é ç, etc.

First go to your Control Panel and select Regional and Language options (it might be called something else for a different operation system, but it should have language in the title) Go to Keyboards and Languages tab and select Change Keyboards. Then select the Add button and scroll down to English (United-States) and click on it.Then select keyboard. It should open a tab that shows many different keyboard selections. Select United States-International and click OK. You should now have a keyboard picture on the lower right side of your screen (you might have to close all the windows before it appears)

Click on the keyboard picture and select US-International. Now you can type accents and tildes.

To type a tilde, shift and click on the tilde and type n. You should get ñ. To get accents, type the apostrophe key and type a vowel. So you can type á,é,ú,í, or ó. To type the dieresis, right shift the quotation marks key and type in your vowel to get ä,ë,ü,ï, or ö

What is good with this is that everything is left the same, but now you have the added ability to type in accents.

If you have a Mac, then I can't help you there, sorry!

Well, you always can change your pc setup, just choose the language, from english to spanish and it will allow you write accents and the 'ñ', but some letters won't correspond with your keyboard, i mean, the ´ will replace a question mark or something on your keyboard
