I find passé composé terribly confusing, and I have a homework problem that's giving me trouble:

Rewrite all the following sentences in the passé composé. Watch agreement.

1. Marc, Elise et moi, nous allons au lycée.
2. Je suis première. J'arrive avant mes amis.
3. Est-ce que Francois rentre chez lui?
4. Madame, allez-vous en autocar?
5. Viennent-elles à ta fête?
6. Tu restes chez toi.

My guesses:
1. Marc, Elise et moi, nous sommes allés à l'école.
2. J'ai été le premier. Je suis venu devant mes amis.
3. Avez-Francois retour à sa place?
5. Ils sont venus à votre anniversaire?

I'd really appreciate help with this!

You have the basic idea, but u only need to change the tense of the verb. I dont know why u are chaning other words in the sentence. EG in Number 1. You go from au lycee to a l'ecole.

Same with most of them actually. You only need to chnage the tense of the verb.

The first is right. it is ... "allés au lycée".

2. J'ai été première. Je suis arrivée avant mes amis.

3. Est-ce que François est rentré chez lui?

4. Madame, êtes-vous allée en autocar?

5. Sont-elles venues à la fête ?

6. Tu es resté chez toi.

Look up the rule:

MRS RD VANDERTRAMP

which helps to remember which verbs use Etre in the passe compose (ie. the exception to the avoir rule)

3 rentrer c'est le verbe donc est rentré

4 - Etes vous allée

6 Tu es resté ...

Lise et Marie, pourquoi est-ce que vous n'etes pas sorties encore? (there could be that little ^ on the 1st "E" in etes however) you're employing the VANDERTRAMP approach on the be conscious sortir and including the etre conjugation for vous earlier the sortir. Sortir is changed in accordance to notwithstanding if it particularly is masculine or female and notwithstanding if it particularly is plural. On sortir we upload an e and an s as a results of fact vous (hence) is female and plural. hopefuly you have discovered this in school and know what im speaking approximately. wish that helped :)
