I am Italian but not Sicilian, anyway you are right when they are drinking wine or other drinks sometimes they say "a cent'anni". Do you want to know what it means? it is an "omen" and they say it especially when is someone's birthday. So when you say "a cent'anni" it means, more or less, "I hope you will able to celebrate your hundredth birthday".

It is an idiomatic expression, every region has some, but we Italians usually say "cin cin".

Get him a Bible, and write something nice in the cover. It helps if you can pick out a nice verse to quote also. If he's smart, he'll hang on to it. That's the number one tool to keep a marraige together. He may not read it right away, but as soon as something bad happens he'll reconsider! It's thoughful and doesn't cost too much for a plain black leather Bible. They are also great keepsakes for families. I have my great-grandmother's Bible. Without it, I wouldn't have known the names of all of my Italian ancestors. A good scripture for your husband might be Colossians 3:13 ~ "Get along with each other, and forgive one another. If someone does wrong to you, forgive that person because the Lord forgave you." That's good advice for any married couple!

I would say: "cento anni".
