meaning, when I close my eyes, I can see these spotty, colored images, that change and swirl if I focus on it. Like the red dots that one can see my glazing over ones eyes in the dark. No drugs necessary, by the way.

i have seen swirling gasious like images floating with my eyes open and no drugs at all(nor have i ever done them). most of them are in the form of people and are not solid. maybe that's what some people call ghosts. the ones i see with my eyes closed when i get ready to sleep are more solid looking.

are you looking for the word visualization?

Are you sure there's a word for that? I think you just have to describe it every time you talk about it.
