Please do not give up just yet!! The most important thing in ANY language learning is to make it FUN for yourself, so I suggest you to try to make a list of topics that you find interesting and start from there. I had also motivational problems with English at school, but now that I have many hobbies (including music, I'm sure you have at least some favourites in music!), I have been able to join the discussion about those artists in their official/unofficial discussion forums in the web and that has led me to even meet some of those with whom I have been writing online! Just make learning fun for yourself first and then you will learn lots of things and faster. Good luck, never give up!

Don't give up! You came so far, besides the errors, I am able to understand what you're saying.

Becoming fluent in any language is extremely difficult. The more you talk to people, live people the easier it gets.

I speak English and I'm learning Japanese! At times I feel like giving up as well because it seems to become impossible, but then I think, I'll never get anywhere with it if I just give up.

Speak as much as you can in English and don't be afraid to make mistakes! It's how we learn and it's better than not trying at all.

Good luck!

Don't give up. English is a hard language to learn. I have a lot of respect for anyone trying to learn English. It wasn't till I started learning Spanish that I realized how hard it would be to learn English if I didn't know it. Even though your question didn't have the best spelling, It is still completely understandable, which is a great accomplishment already. If you have trouble speaking English well because you're nervous then that's another issue. Keep Learning! and don't be so hard on yourself.

Don't give up! You're living in America, you will have to face it one way or another. It is a very hard language with endless exceptions and ridiculous intonations that make it very difficult, but just work at it every day and it will get easier.

The most important thing is to not just study but also put it into practice: go out and interact with other english speakers. There are many understanding people who will help you by correcting you (don't take offense, corrections from fluent people are the best way to learn) and help you learn new things.

I have English as my second language but I was lucky to learn it at the young age (8)...but my parents put me to it and I even cried out of frustration at it every day but I worked very hard and now I am fluent. Hard work does pay off!

Don't give up. The best way to learn is to speak it in your everyday life more and more. If you have a group of English speaking friends, invite them over for dinner. Or watch tv and repeat what you hear. It will help you I believe; you know what things mean just need help saying them. I know this sounds silly but watch Sesame Street, Blue's Clues, shows for preschool children. It might help you a bit. But never give up, if it helps, I work with a Spanish boy and he as been speaking English for four years and is still learning. It will get better.

I can't tell you what you should or shouldn't do, but if you really want to learn English, giving up isn't going to help. You seem to know a lot of English already though, and if you keep practicing, you'll get better.

Saying you want to give up learning English because you don't speak it is like saying you don't want to exercise because you're weak. We exercise so that we can become strong and we learn and practice things so that we can get better at them!

You should not give up learning to speak English. I speak several other languages including Spanish, Italian and some French. It is hard to learn another language but if you really put the effort into it, you can do very well. I speak Spanish now as if it was my first language because I worked so hard at perfecting my accent, learning the grammar rules, etc. Do not give up. You can do it if you really put your mind to it.

I do not think you should. The more languages you know, the more versatile you can be with your friends. If you live in the U.S, then I strongly suggest you continue. Americans pretty much only speak English, so if you want to get much done out here, you should go for it.

My Dad brought me up on this phrase: "If at first you don't succeed, try, and try again." Winston Churchill said: "never give up. Never, never, never give up!"
