what does the term "cou de tau" mean?
(sounds like "coo-de-ta")
Is it french?

I've herd people say things like "this is our cou de tau". I've always been curious as to what exactly it meant. Sounds cool, so I would like to know how to use it.

Maybe you mean coup d'etat which is a sudden overthrow in the government.

The way you wrote it is the way it is pronounced and an English speaker would probably write it.

Maybe you mean "un coup d'état" [coo-day-tah].

That's a (military) coup, as in the sudden, unconstitutional deposition of a legitimate government.

The people are very crazy. Gente is a singular noun in Spanish but means 'people'. Also it is written la gente está muy loca.
