English to German Translation for a tattoo?
I'm German but do not speak German fluently. How does "Live one day at a time" translate in German? It would mean a lot, I don't want my tattoo wong:) I want a German native speaker. I asked this once already. I got three answers.
1. Lebe einen Tag nach dem anderen
2. Leben eines Tages zu einer Zeit
3. Leb einzeln Tag
Three answers:

Of the three, only "Lebe einen Tag nach dem anderen" works. The other two sound as though they were the mangled results of an online translator. The phrase "Lebe einen Tag nach dem anderen" means literally "live one day after another".

Here's one example from a poem on the Web:

Lass Dich niemals von der Zukunft einschüchtern - lebe einen Tag nach dem anderen = Never be intimidated by the future - live one day at a time

There are many other examples online. Another possibility is:

Lebe nur einen Tag auf einmal = live only one day at once/at a time

See:

Lebe nur einen Tag auf einmal! (lasse die Vergangenheit dahinten – und lasse die Zukunft vorne!) = Live only one day at a time (leave the past behind you and leave the future in front of you!)

„Vertraue auf Gott, und lebe nur einen Tag auf einmal.“ = Trust in God and live only one day at a time
