How do you say "to go wrong" in French?

I need to write a paper in French about what would happen if I showed up to school bald. I want to start by saying that I got a haircut the week before school started but something went terribly wrong. How would I finish this sentence? Thanks.



Oh yeah... how do you say sweatshirt in French? My dictionary said "un sweat-shirt" but my French spell checker said that's wrong... What do the people in France say?

'things started to go wrong' : "les choses ont tournés mal", "tout a commencé à foirer" (informal)



"sweatshirt" : 'sweat-shirt', 'sweat' , 'chandail à manches longues' or 'coton ouaté' (Canada)

it means The week before, I cut my hair but everything went wrong.



and I'd use sweat-shirt :)
