Everything is written in a metaphorical way.

The main idea is : "I've never felt such a sweet feeling (love) for another girl before."

Instead of "girl" the writer used the word "sguardo" which means "sight" (it's all about the sight at that time, you should know).

The feeling of love is said to be as an arrow, as a dart ("strale"), that hurts his soul but in a sweet way (quel dolce strale che l'alma impiaga).

The last part means:

"what I feel is the first dart and this will be the last wound"

He means that he will love no one else after this girl.

ciao, from Italy.
