This is a corrupted form of the word for the colour black used in some languages.

noir - French

negro - Spanish

Negro is a contraction of negroid, which is the correct scientific anthropological name for a person of that particular racial group.

The taboo word shown in stars has a history of use in common accepted language, and was not always considered offensive, and was commonly used in literature sometimes as a term of affection, but more commonly as a benign, condescending word used in ignorance, rather than one used in a derogatory way. It was common to my grandmother, who would have struggled to see what the fuss was about the word, because in her day it even appeared in childrens' comics, with one strip of the day called "The ****** minstrals", which seems to have been used innocently at the time, without problem.

it is the main suitable way people interior the Southern States stated the French word negre - which ability a black guy. French was once many times spoken various the slave-possessing categories. The French word comes from the Spanish word ***** which ability black. regrettably, its racist connotations have brought about confusion with the completely respected English word nìgger - which ability despite that has an inclination to *** or wreck up. the single which you get interior the woodpile or fence refers to an inferior piece of wooden and has no longer something to do with black adult males or racism.

It's the way people in the Southern States pronounced the French word negre - meaning a black man. French was widely spoken among the slave-owning classes. The French word comes from the Spanish word negro meaning black.

Unfortunately, its racist connotations have caused confusion with the perfectly respectable English word nìgger - meaning something that tends to nig or split. The one that you get in the woodpile or fence refers to an inferior piece of wood and has nothing to do with black men or racism.

It comes from the slave trade.

When the africans were imported from Africa, they were call Nigra or Black by the Spanish. The rest of the slave trade started to call them a modified form of that word, so as to address an entire group of african Americans or an individual using that term. It was used to demoralize them and to let them know they were lower than dirt to the slave traders/owners.

neger and negar mean black in spanish and portugese. John Smith started calling Africans negars. The word just caught on but it wasn't offensive at all then.

It is a common ethnic slur. The word originated as a term used in a neutral context to refer to black people, as a variation of the Spanish/Portuguese noun negro, a descendant of the Latin adjective niger, meaning "black".

It is a corruption of Negro (black). It came to Eng. from French who took it from Spanish who adopted it from Latin where it exists in two forms, Negro and Negra.

"*****" is a slang term for "******", which is derived from the word negro. "******" is said with racist connotations and i find it hilarious that black people actually refer themeselves and other black people as "*****" or "******". it just further solidifies their lower position in society
