It's "nom de plume" (literally "pen name")

It means a false name used to write a book or a song; the main reason people use a "nom de plume" is because they think their own name isn't distinctive or grand enough, or not "catchy" enough. For example, Salvatore Lombino wrote under the "noms de plume" of Ed McBain and Evan Hunter.

You must mean nom de plume" or pen name Actually, this French phrase was coined by English speakers in imitation of nom de guerre.

"nom de guerre" is the phrase the French themselves use for Pseudonym. Literally war name

i think it might be 'nom de plume' which is french for a pen name, a pseudonym some author's use instead of their real name (which i guess would make sense for aladdin if he was trying to conceal his identity from the guards)

I think you mean 'nom de plume'. It means a fake name/pseudonym.
