In Polish It is Szczęśliwego Nowego Roku (technically) Rok is year - Nowy is new Though you could say Nowego Roku also for new year for short but you would still need the Szczęśliwego which is not so short :D Happy New year to you and yours - Blessings to you and may this year be better than last or in Polish Szczęśliwego Nowego Roku dla Ciebie i do Ciebie, błogosławieństwo ci w tym roku i może być lepiej niż w ubiegłym EDIT let me give some others - Which I know for sure are corrct not just translations :D Polish Wesołych świąt - Merry Christmas Szczęśliwego Nowego Roku - Happy New Year Happy New Year in daily romanian is "(Un) An Nou Fericit" In Malay : - Merry Christmas - Selamat Hari Natal Happy New Year - Selamat Tahun Baru In (German) Merry Christmas is: Frohe Weihnachten ! happy new year: Frohes neues Jahr ! In Egypt they say "Kol Sana w ento taybeen">>>>>>>>HAppy New Year for You All كل سنه وانتوا طيبين In Russian: Merry Christmas - Весёлого Рождества! But it's more often said "С Рождеством!" Happy New Year - С Новым годом! hope that helps even more now though

Sorry, can't help you out with Polish. As far as Russian, the formal would be "Posdravlyayoo snovem goadem". Coloquially, "Snovem goadem" works too.
