The kimono is from Japan and that is why you will only find pictures of Japanese kimonos. The kimono is a traditional Japanese garment worn by women, men and children.

That's because there s no such thing as a Chinese kimono. Kimono are Japanese and only Japanese. If you want to talk about traditional Chinese clothes, you want to talk about things like hanfu, qipao/cheaongsam, or the clothes worn by various indigenous groups around China.

China do not have kimonos. This is a Japanese word and Japanese pronunciation. The traditional clothes in China is qi pao. I am afraid you mistaken the two. Wish your research goes on well~

the Chinese didn't wear kimonos so that's why you only get Japanese kimonos when you do a search for Chinese kimonos.

try searching for Chinese Hanfu or Chinese robes.

To my knowledge the Chinese never wore kimonos. That was a strictly Japanese thing. The Chinese wore less robe style clothing and more loose fitting shirts.

Since the kimono was derived from the Chinese robes (aka Hanfu in Mandarin), it's no surprise that they would looks somewhat similar. Unless you have been looking at the qipao or cheongsam, because these were not quite authentically Chinese.

What you need to search for is "hanfu" or 漢服. You'll find robes such as these:
