I'm trying to learn Korean too! :D Have you considered self-teaching yourself? There are so many resources online to learn. That's how I learned Hangul, haha. One site that I found to be useful for me is http://www.koreanclass101.com/ which has audio and video lessons. I find the free account to be sufficient for me, but you can also pay for extra lessons and help. I believe it is $5 per month. You do get a premium membership for free for the first week you join. So I recommend signing up in the morning. x] I also watch many Korean shows with English subtitles, haha. I picked up a good thirty words over the summer just from that alone. I watch my shows at http://www.viki.com/channels . (I recommend City Hunter for an action drama, Boys Over Flowers for romance, and Playful Kiss for comedy, as starters. :D They're all my favorites.) Also, do you have friends who are Korean? I have mine correct me when I'm unclear on a meaning or if I want clarification in case I use it and find out I got the meaning wrong from context in the drama. (I recently learned that "naneun" means "I am" and not "I" as I had initially thought. Apparently "na" is "I". :P Psh. Technicalities.. >o>) You can also check out books at your local library if you happen to find any, or sit in a bookstore and read one if you have the time and not the money. Maybe listen to more Korean music as well? I can't help you there because I haven't had time with school to find any new bands LOL. Some that I now off the top of my head are SS501 (disbanded), Kim Hyun Joong (ex-leader of said band. He got a new "masculine" image and sound to shake off his "flower boy" image that he had for so long. I haven't had time to look into his new music, so I can't tell you anything on it.), Girl's Generation, B2ST, SHINee, Super Junior, KARA, Big Bang, G-Dragon, Taeyang ("Prayer" and "Wedding Dress" are my top faves from him. <3 He was voted Best Dancer in South Korea too! :D Sexy abs~), and Ashily.

Hope I helped you some. Fighting~! :D

Its a process like learning your first language. It can be harder or easier. The easier is because you actually know a language and you have a translator and you know what it means. So if you don't know anything in english or any other language it would be hard you would have to look at pictures to define what it means. The Harder is your accent. If you learn two languages then your second language would have ascents. But that shouldn't be a problem in alot of cases unless Girl and Boy are pronounced kinda the same in korea. Then you ask a korean teacher you needa go to the bathroom... The best way i can roccmend is study hard, be positive, and believe in your self. If you don't believe in your self then nothing in your life can be accomplished. When you first try out something it didn't do bad nor good. some where in the middle. You tend to think i can do better next time. And you do because your brain BELIEVES! If you don't then you have no hope. Like if your brain keeps saying i won't get sick i won't get sick then you eventually won't get sick because you're so careful and you probably doesn't even notice you will automatically move to a good place so you won't get sick. Like in the winter, you would prefer staying in the house. So basically its up to you. You Need to believe in your self. If you don't believe in yourself then you have no hope no whether what advice is given to you. This is a hard process to complete. But if you BELIEVE in your self you can.

The best way of learning a language is always immersion. But since, you can't go to korea, as you've said, I believe the best way would be to watch tons and tons of korean series and movies. and if possible, try to see on movie more than once. start watching the particular movie with subtitles, and then try to understand. when you think you're very familiar with what they're saying, try to watch another movie and see if you can understand some conversations without subs.

Also, try to find an online buddy who's also trying to learn english. Try to communicate with them in korean and them with you in english.

Lastly, you can try some language learning CD's like Rosetta stone and Pimsleur's. Chances are, you can borrow a copy from the local library.

hope I helped!
