Hello. I ve been trying to learn Spanish lately and I ve come across something that confuses me. I understand that tu means you and eres means are , so tu eres would be you are . But I still see a lot of people use eres by itself and it still translates to you are . Can someone clarify this for me? Is it the same thing? Different uses? Thanks in advance!

there's not really a difference. "eres" still means "you are", but a lot of times people will add the pronoun (tu in this case) for emphasis. like, if you have saying something like, "no, HE'S blue, YOU'RE green", it would be like "no, EL es azul, TU eres verde", whereas just "you're green" wouldn't need that emphasis for distinction, so most people just say "eres verde"

Eres by itself means 'you are' , so eres or tu eres is the same thing. Look up 'ser' verb conjugation.

Not everyone uses tu, if you're listening carefully in conversation you can probably pick up the subject and assume from there. Not proper but eh
