(1) Optimism: O.K., so it's going to rain today. And I wanted to mow the lawn. Now I won't be able to do it. I guess I'll just have to go back to bed an stay there all day. That means that I'll have to make the bed again after I wake up. It'll be too wet out to take the dog for a walk. She'll probably do her business on the carpet. That dog just doesn't have the good sense of a goat anyway. (2) Optimism: O.K., so it's going to rain today. I wanted to mow the lawn. Now that I cant, I will take the dog for a walk. She loves the rain, and I'll just wipe her feet before we go back into the house. A dog does what a dog does, and I want to avoid mistakes on the carpet. Less work for me. The lawn will be greener from the rain. I always feel so much after a good walk in the rain and my little pal trotting along beside me.
There you have it - the pessimist talking and then the optimist.

what about being optimistic that the economy will get better but pessimistic that it will be happening anytime soon. i caught some of that state of union address so its fresh on the mind. man is it me or do these politicians seem like they should be in hollywood as opposed to dc?? and do they have to clap after every comment? annoying.
