I am wearing a T shirt with Chinese Democracy" written on it. Is it going to offend Chinese?

Hi,

I bought a T shirt that has "Chinese Democracy" written on it and there is an image of a guy that looks like a rock star or something...

Somebody tole me that wearing this will get me into trouble if I go near "Chine Town" (It's a place in Sydney) because it can offend Chinese people.

I bought this t shirt because I like the print. I do not want to offend anyone.

Can anyone please suggest me what will a Chinese think after seeing me wearing this T-Shirt?

I google for it but all i could find was that "Chinese Democracy" was a music album. So I am still confused.

Chinese Democracy was an album released by American band Guns and Roses. Im shure some chinese people would be confused, some wont say anything.

That's true. most Chinese won't even care what you wear. As a matter of fact, the PRC government believes that China is a democratic country. So chinese democracy is legit.

Taiwan is a democracy, Hong Kong was a democracy. I would say many Chinese living in Sydney are not from mainland China. So, no I don't think they would be offended. That's just my opinion though.

Honestly, most Chinese I know won't care.



Yes, those people can read English and no, they are not blind.



Why? Most Chinese outside and inside of China are just simply apolitical.



Two, Chinese who migrated and settled outside of China are there for a reason. One of those things is the fact that they won't get smothered by a pseudo-communistic-but-truly-an-oligarchy government.



Just because they are Chinese does not mean they are communist.
